Adjusting to life

It has been a while since my last post but life has been busy. George has been gone for almost 5 weeks now and I am finally starting to adjust & get used to functioning as a single parent. It has been difficult to figure out how to homeschool Wyatt, entertain Charlotte & meet the demands of Cora all at the same time. But I am slowly doing it...

Wyatt is showing huge improvements in school. The biggest improvement is in his reading. He is learning how fun it is to be able to read everywhere we go. He also continues to improve in both his math & writing. I love that we don't have to do a lot of school everyday & we can do craft projects and other things around the house & he is still learning. He has recently started really struggling with me & I know its a combination of both Christmas & his daddy being gone. So, we will struggle through this month & start fresh in January.

Charlotte has been having a hard time with her daddy being gone. She has a daddy doll with George's picture in it that she sleeps with & carries around all the time. She has become very clingy with me & wants my undivided attention all the time. She loves playing outside & gets upset when she can't go out. She is also starting to tell me no quite frequently. Her new sentence is " No I don't". So that is lots of fun. Plus she is starting to take less naps, which is not fun for me either.

Cora is our cute little baby that just loves everything. She loves to be held and interact with both Wyatt & Charlotte. She is sitting up really good & is playing with more toys all the time. Which causes a problem between her & Charlotte, since Charlotte doesn't like to share! She also wants all of my time which is difficult at times. She smiles & laughs alot & she is finally starting to grab things and eat a bit more table foods. She is a happy girl, most of the time.

I am learning how to do everything on my own, which isn't easy. Especially when unexpected events get thrown in my path such as our neighbor dog putting a hole in our fence & the fire ants attacking the kids. But I have been able to handle everything so far... I am figuring out how to do the shopping, the homeschooling, the cleaning & not go crazy!!

We all miss George a lot & look forward to his phone calls... Its been a hard month for us, but hopefully they will get better & time will start moving faster. And before you know it daddy will be home & our family will be together again. But until then, we will move forward & pray for a quick 8 months & then hope we won't have to endure anymore deployments.

We love you George/daddy....
